Everyone wants to be loved and wants to look good. Or rather, everyone wants other people to think well of them.
Today, that is the worst trap. How many likes did I get on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok?
That mindset makes you a slave to society—instead of doing what is right for you.
When I was growing up in a Catholic society as an atheist, I got bullied everywhere. Nobody loved me—not even my own family—because I couldn’t be anything other than honest.
The Catholic Christians liked to punish my siblings and me, to beat us, to abuse us. And this they called “love for one’s neighbor.”
Then the Protestants moved into our area, and we had open street fights. Because I was the best fighter, they hired me.
When I was a student, we founded the Alternative List, and we got bullied like crazy because the leading party—the Communists—were afraid of us. Everywhere there were posters with our photos saying, “Don’t vote for them.”
And this was hell for me because I am an introvert.
Guess what? Their anti-propaganda helped us win the election. Any promotion is good promotion.
Later, I became a Sannyasin—a devotee of Bhagwan. I was used to getting bullied.
But one thing was always clear: I never compromised.
If you try to fit in, you betray yourself. And in my eyes, that makes you a lousy coward.
Sure, in every group, I did it my way.
Later, I became a favorite and a role model for many people—even though I didn’t want that.
They admired me, and that was something I never wanted and had never experienced before. I was so used to being bullied that I didn’t want to be in the spotlight.
Literally, I was—and you would be jealous if I went into detail.
That can happen if you simply want to be yourself. Be authentic.
You have to find the group that fits you, instead of trying to fit in.

If there are two groups—a big group and a very small group—going in opposite directions, and we always choose to follow the small group in life, we will make hardly any mistake in our whole life.
Watch what everyone else does, and do the opposite. The majority is always wrong.
The most successful people will tell you the same thing.
Why does a small minority hold most of the wealth? Because all successful people got bullied like crazy. For instance, their friends became their enemies out of jealousy.
If you can’t stand up for yourself, who else will?
