There exists two different stress, one stress we can call as hyper alert stress and the other stress is caused by overwhelming, exhausting …

A. Hyper alert stress

If we are confronted with a new situation that makes us anxious then our energy level is going too much up and we have a hard time to calm down.

This phenomenon is described as angry, flight, or freeze responds… We are getting angry or we want to escape or we cannot think or act anymore.

We are too activated, too alert, too agitated and we want to be less activated.

We are impatient, the world is going too slowly…

 

B. Stress by exhausting

We are exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated; still, we can think…

We have a hard time to get our energy up.

The world goes too fast so we are overwhelmed, everything is too much.

We can’t control all of our anxieties, we can’t sleep…

We become more impulsive, nervous…

 

Solution A:

WE CANNOT FIX OUR MIND WITH OUR MIND!

This doesn’t work for ourselves nor if we try to calm down another person with our mind.

If we say to a stressed person calm down it can even make him angrier… Don’t do so!

We have to calm down the body, and then the mind will follow.

Just try out: inhale 2 times short and exhale 1 time long.

Or if we exhale vigorous and slowly and inhale 2 times faster our mind will slow down…

Our mind is hooked by rhythmic…

If we tap with the left hand our left thigh and count 1 then we tap with our right hand our right thigh and count 2 and so we count with tapping until 4. We repeat this process for 2 minutes counting again until 4 and tape in the speed of our heart (60 to 100 beats /minute).

And then we slow down with our taping to 30 to 50 beats and our mind will slow down.

If we make exhausting sport or dance, we will calm down, too.

 

B. Overwhelmed/exhausted from the situation.

The reason is very often that we cannot sleep. If this is the case, we use the tapping method (described as before) before we sleep in… so that the mind will slow down and we can sleep.

If we inhale vigorous and slowly and exhale fast (for instance 2 times faster exhale than inhale) we speed up our heart and so we become more alert and focused…

If we make sport or dance, we will build up more energy and confidence and so we gain the energy to solve our problem.
